Joeli & Elise, a sweet couple from Wellington, decided to combine their two different cultures (Fijian and Western) by having two separate ceremonies on the same day with exchanging the rings at the first ceremony and signing the marriage licence at the second ceremony.
In the morning we had a pleasure to witness their beautiful Fijian ceremony at the Rotorua Methodist Batist Church. The couple got dressed in the traditional Fijian wedding attire made of the bark of a Mulberry Tree. In the afternoon the couple had their second ceremony which took place in the Government Gardens, Rotorua. Both ceremonies were very touching and Joeli cried both times when Elise was walking down the isle! His heart was full of happiness and love!
After the marriage ceremonies, Joeli & Elise treated their guests to a lovely buffet dinner at the Millennium Hotel Rotorua.. After nice dinner, champagne and speeches, the bride and groom and their guests have danced the night away.
Congratulations, Joeli and Elise – thank you so much for including us in your day! Lena & Jay xx
