Jasmine Star Workshop | Intercontinental Hotel Double Bay

Being an artist is not easy, being a business owner is even harder. There are so many bits and pieces that need to be put together in order to run a successful Wedding Photography studio. Wedding photography market has become very competitive over the years. There are lots of shooters and burners in New Zealand. No question that it all depends on the person and how creative you are but the underlying structure, base core must be solid.

Few years ago I came to realise that self learning is possible but is hard and is a very slow process. It is so easy to get lost in your weekly routine with 1 million little things to do that we forget to learn new techniques, trends, technology and innovation that will take us further.

My long term example of a innovative entrepreneur, business person and an amazing artist is Jasmine Star. I've been following her and JD's work for years now and there is always something new and fresh on their blog. Just come to look at their Website. It surely is amasing and is a true reflection of what they are and what they want to be in a nearest future.

This was a whole day workshop that was held at Intercontinental Hotel in Double Bay. What an amazing place. Every conference room is so well presented and organised that you forget about an outside world once you get in.

The workshop was broken down into sections. It was more of a class driven workshop. There was a theory part, there was lunch :), the was a practical shoot outdoors, lots of time for Q&A and an informal dinner at Pink, Salt Double Bay restaurant with Jasmine Star and her team.

Just wanted to thank Jasmine Star and JD for their great workshop in Sydney on Thursday. I would also like to say a big thank you for people who helped Jasmine run this workshop. They did an amazing job by providing food, service, hair and make up, dresses, stylists and models for the shoot. Not forgetting JD who was always there to support and answer any questions our class had. Again, great great team!

My biggest takeaway from this was that it is so easy to get lost in the world of photography and that while we love what we are doing its not always enough for us to drive creatively. We shall be business people first and artists second. Thank you Jasmine Star for sharing so much of your workflow and your personal life. You surely are an inspiration to many people around the globe. We love you and you are always welcome here ;)

Best Regards,

Jay
